José Martí Square

Visit the Historic Center. Its beautiful downtown encompasses a place that one must certainly visit: Mart� Square and its surroundings, with some of the city 's most important buildings: the Terry Theater, the Spanish Casino, Ferrer Palace.

Attend a mass at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Founded in 1869, it has stained-glass windows of high artistic value, brought from France in the period of the Commune of Paris.

Terry Theater

Situated centrally and well-preserved, the Terry Theater has welcomed outstanding figures in the world of music such as Enrico Caruso and Sara Bernhardt. The frescoes on the ceiling maintain the splendor of the original masterpieces.

Visit the Jagua Fortress National Monument. Built in the 18th century as a defense against pirates, it is
the third fortress of the country nowadays. It has a restaurant with its special dish The Blue Lady, drinks and cocktails.

Tour the highly beautiful settings, waterfalls, natural pools, and walking paths in the Sierra of Trinidad.
Just 50 km from Cienfuegos, one can contemplate the three symbols of Cuban nationality: the fragrant national flower called Mariposa or butterfly jasmine, the royal palm tree, and the Tocororo or trogon, the national bird.

A wonderful area for swimming and sunbathing, Rancho Luna has excellent facilities for scuba and skindiving. Its coral reef features a whole world of gorgeous colors in which divers can admire the tallest coral column in Latin America -- 4 meters -- known as Notre Dame.
